Shortly after I purchased my TR6 back it the late 80's the axle separated from the body and I was beside myself to find someone to fix it. My neighbor was a big jaguar fan and told me about R&S.

Stan has done almost all of the work on this car that I didn't do myself including pretty much restore the entire drive line. He has always done a great job and his prices have always been very reasonable.

I had been taking my old 1989 XJ6 in to the Jag dealership and usually got reamed. When I had to replace the starter ring, I remember the Jag service mgr saying something along the lines of 'you really don't want to know what this is going to cost'. After he told me, he was right, I didn't want to know.

I called Stan to see if he could do this and if so what it would cost. It seems like it was only 1/3 of what Jag wanted. I asked what I was missing by not using Jag. He said he got the parts from the same place and just charged "book rates". I guess Jag really jacks up the labor. From that point forward, Stan was the sole mechanic for my Jag too.

I ended up moving a long way away from R&S but I still used him for another 8 years even though it was 1.5 hours out of my way. I knew the job would be done correctly and for a good price. I only stopped using Stan because I moved to the other side of the state and even then I have called and asked some questions which he gladly answered.

I highly recommend Stan for any british car repair. He used to do other models too but I'm not sure that is the case any longer.
