The Base

Once we were done at the high school, some of us walked the short distance to the PX/Commissary.

One thing that always impressed me as a kid was the size of the fence that went around the base. It ran on for miles. Here you can see that fence and the equipment being stored at the base. There was pretty much everything you could think of from Tanks to Hummers. As I said, there is enough equipment there to supply a battalion.

Here is the inside of the chapel. I know I went here nearly every Sunday, but I can't remember it at all. That is Linda and Leslie.

This was the NCO club (across the street from the church). Now it is open to everyone.
